Mr. Shaheryar Syed is a Fellow Chartered Accountant from one of the big four international audit firms. He has over 20 years of experience and has been working in UAE since 1999. He has worked with various multinational companies.
Mr. Shaheryar joined Das Holding in December 2007 as Financial Controller. In 2013 he was assigned the strategic position as a Group Chief Financial Officer. In this position, Mr. Shaheryar is responsible for the overall group financial strategy and direction at Das Group. He guides the controller, treasury, shareholder relations, accounting, tax, and other functions of the company to pursue its aggressive growth strategy and meet its clients’ and investors’ expectations.
Before joining Das Group, Mr. Shaheryar held the Head of Finance position under Petrofac Group (Listed on the London Stock Exchange). He has also worked in the audit and assurance practice at PWC and Arthur Anderson. Through his nearly 22-year career in accounting, auditing and financial planning, he established a reputation for building work-class teams and aligning financial and business metrics to support business strategy and high growth.

Mr. Walid Jaafar was appointed to the position of Group General Counsel at Das Holding in 2011.
Mr. Walid Jaafar was appointed to Group General Counsel at Das Holding in 2011. Mr. Jaafar is a qualified lawyer registered with the Beirut Bar Association and has over 30 years of work experience, including 16 years in banking, before joining DAS holding.
Over the years, Mr. Jaafar has worked as an in-house General Counsel and in private practices, holding the position of Head of Legal in Barclays Bank UAE and acting as Compliance Officer and MLRO for a DFSA-regulated entity. Dr. Badwan is a highly experienced executive banker with over 39 years in the industry. He has a proven track record in driving corporate strategies, fund management and investment banking through strategic decision-making, market analysis and risk management. Dr. Badwan's experience and knowledge make him a valuable asset to any organization.
In addition, Dr. Badwan has extensive experience in portfolio management, raising and structuring equity and debt capital for public and private companies in various industries in MENA region.
He joined many reputable financial institutions in senior positions, such as Kuwait Investment Co., FAB, and UAE Central Bank. Furthermore, Dr Badwan was a board member at Jordan Dubai Islamic Bank.
Dr Badwan is an economist with a proven track record in economic research, focusing mainly on forecasting economic and financial market trends.
In late 2007 he published an article in forwarding Magazine forecasting the stock market crash of 2008.
